2015 Reading Challenge FAIL!

2015 GoodreadsWHAT A FAIL! I had hoped to read 100 books in 2015.

I only managed to read 86 books this year. I one hundred percent blame the big fat month long reading slump I had halfway through the year. I really hope that doesn’t happen in 2016.

I’m pretty much writing off January as I will be finishing up my job in Gisborne, packing up our flat & moving city with my husband. We don’t have a definitive move date and it’s already the 1st Jan 2016.

Although Bout of Books is in a few days… so maybe I can treat myself to a few books if I can get the bulk of packing done by then? Maybe that’s setting a too high expectation on my packing capabilities. I’m more of a slow and steady wins the race type. Wish me luck.

Happy New Year everyone. Wishing us all the best reading year!

  1. I failed abysmally – something which would have upset me terribly even a few months ago but is now something I look at philosophically and think, “oh well”. 2016 is a new year. The most important thing for me is that I enjoy reading and the time out it gives me. Any other goals achieved is a bonus.

    1. I was hoping to reduce my 2016 goal, but I’ve only got 2 chances left for ticking off a goal on my 101 Bookish Things in 1001 Days challenge – and that’s to read 100 books in a year!

So I’ve set me a monthly target of 10 books and that should exceed expectations at the end of the year 🙂
