Saturday is a day for swooning. Swoon Worthy Saturday, hosted by staybookish, is a weekly meme where in we present a fictional boy who has swept us off our feet, given us butterflies, made our heart do acrobatics and driven us absolutely crazy!
Abbi Glines, you’ve done it again! This week’s #SWS goes to:
» The Gist
We first catch a glimpse of Cage in Breathe, the first installment of the Sea Breeze series. He’s a womaniser. He has a one night stand reputation. But he tells everyone that one day he will marry his best gal Low. Bad conflict of personalities but she is the only person to stick around in his life, so his commitment is only to her. Cage gains the trophy of swoon worthy in book 3, While It Lasts. A reckless summer lands him at a farm ‘doing time’ for his baseball coach’s friend. He falls hard for Eva, the farmer’s daughter (Yee-haw) but she has battles of her own to overcome.
» Swoon Worthy Moments slash Quotables
Cage says some sweet things like “I’d walked too close to heaven and gotten a glimpse. The hell I’d lived before her no longer appealed to me.” but one of my favourite scenes in the book is:
“You see somethin’ ya want, baby?”
“Maybe. I’m checking things out. Seeing if I’m interested,” I shot back with my own evil grin.
“I see something I want,” he drawled as he came toward me.
“Hell yeah, I do,” he murmured. “I love chocolate.” What? My excitement turned to confusion. His arm reached out beside me and took the piece of chocolate cake I’d brought him.”
» Author Love
Abbi Glines is one of my faves! She quotes lines in the series before While It Lasts, so you can read all about Cage through other’s POV on abbiglines.com. That way if you really wanted to skip ahead to read Cage’s story, you wouldn’t feel so bad.
» Hot Dang!
Cage York has featured on Hot Guys in Books. See people? I am not the only one. You need to check him out!
» Dreamcast – Thanks to Abbi, I don’t have to dream. Addam Bramich is being cast as Cage in a 2016 film adaptation of While It Lasts.
Although while reading While It Lasts, I pictured a man with a bulkier upper body like Captain America under the outfit and a harder jaw like this photo of Heath Ledger, or maybe even a hint of Vin Diesel, because he always looks like he knows what he wants.
