Wishlist Wednesday, hosted by Pen To Paper is a book blog hop where we post about one book that is on our wishlist that we can’t wait to get on our bookshelf!
I wanted a book meme that lets me share a ‘Just Released’ or ‘Upcoming New Release’ that I really want. There is nothing more exciting for a book blogger than a new book!
Without further ado, I dedicate my very first Wishlist Wednesday to…
Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover
Genre: Contemporary Fiction, Romance, New Adult
Publisher: Atria Books
Release Date: 5th Aug 2014
Length: 336 pages (pbk)
I’ve already spotted an alternative cover on the UK edition. I don’t really know how the underwater air bubbles fit into a story line about being in love with a pilot, but I can’t wait to uncover its meaning!
» Book Blurb
When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.
Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.
They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.
Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.
» Why is it on my Wishlist?
Because everything Colleen Hoover is FANTASTIC!
I have read both the Hopeless and Slammed series. Both are epic romances. Dean & Skye from Hopeless have a love story like no other and I’ve heard of poetry nights but never read anything like Slammed. I would love to see Slammed poetry performed live. It sounds so personal and moving, like each performer are giving a piece of themselves to the crowd.
Maybe, Someday is another great love story. It’s a new experience, listening to the lyrics as they are written, while you read them. Especially when the story gets emotional. This isn’t a playlist the author listened to while writing the book. Colleen Hoover collaborated with an artist to write the lyrics and put music to her characters. It really brings them alive. I felt like I could understand what the characters were going through that little bit more.
I’m sure Ugly Love will be the same.
» Recommend to:
It’s hard to say who I would recommend this book to as I haven’t read it myself, but I would imagine if you love a good love story, that Colleen Hoover books are an excellent choice.
Have you got it Ugly Love on preorder or were you lucky enough to receive an ARC? I can’t wait to read this. Colleen Hoover hasn’t let me down yet!
